DARSC presidential race approaches conclusion

On January 12, the DAR Student Council will hold its second annual presidential election.  Candidates who wish to participate are required to sign up by January 5— a mere four days away.  For more information on signing up to participate, click here.

All students above the age of seven will be permitted to vote in the election, which has created excitement in recent weeks.  Many students have found the Council’s electoral process both energizing and informative:  “It’s really quite interesting,” said one student.  “Both candidates have gained support for their views.” Continue reading

DARSC presidential campaigns begin

On Saturday, December 1, the DAR Student Council announced a change in the Student Council presidential election process.  In a brief address to several DAR classes, the election monitor announced that entry forms would no longer be needed for entry into the race.  Interested students, he said, need only inform him of their participation and satisfy a simple age requirement, and they will be permitted to participate.

Two candidates immediately informed him of their intent to participate.  One of those two is an incumbent seeking reelection; the other is a young student from Ms. Silvana’s class.  Candidates can still inform the monitor of their participation, but must do so by January 5 in order to be on the ballot. Annual Parents’ Meeting to be held November 24

The Annual Parents’ Meeting will be held on Saturday, November 24.  All parents are strongly encouraged to attend, as this meeting will comprehensively discuss the 2012-2013 school year.  You don’t want to miss this – it could affect your child’s school year.

A delicious breakfast will be provided, and daycare will be available.

DARSC Presidential Election process begins; candidates face deadlines

The DAR Student Council has announced that entry forms may now be submitted to the election moderator.  Entry forms valid for the 2013 DARSC presidential election must be submitted on or prior to November 24.

Candidates must submit entry forms satisfying all criteria outlined in Section B of this document.  All deadlines have been delayed by two months.

The DARSC election will be held on January 12.  Results will be announced on this website shortly after all votes are cast.

DAR to hold Eid ul-Adha celebration on October 27

Eid al-Adha celebrations

Dar al-Rahman School will be holding an Eid ul-Adha celebration on Saturday, October 27.  The celebration will include all sorts of fun activities, including games and an arts-and-crafts class.  Pizza and other delicious treats – including cotton candy – will be given to students.

The DAR Student Council will be playing an integral role at this year’s celebration.  This is a first for the Student Council, which has never before played a major role at Eid celebrations.

DARSC to begin Presidential election process

The DAR Student Council will begin its Presidential election process on October 13.  Potential candidates will be permitted to submit entry forms beginning on that date.  Entry forms must be submitted to the election moderator, who will be introduced on October 13.

Candidates wishing to participate in the election process must follow the rules in this document.  Candidates should take time to review Section B and Section E: Amendment 7.
