DAR plans details of upcoming Awards Assembly

The students of DAR School today were directed to wear “traditional dress” to the DAR All-School Annual Awards Assembly.  These new directions come as plans for the Assembly are worked out throughout the school.

In Ms. Bushra’s Class, students practiced the song they will be singing on the Assembly day, and in Ms. Samia’s Class, students began to assemble information necessary to their Assembly presentations.  The DARSC also began to plan its Assembly activities, and the DARSC representative to the Council practiced the rough draft of his planned speech.

Keep visiting daralrahman.org for the latest information concerning Assembly preparations and plans.  We hope to have a specific date for the Assembly soon!

DARSC announces upcoming newsletter

The DARSC today announced that it will release the first issue of a periodic newsletter on April 7. The newsletter will contain data about school events, as well as other interesting information.

The newsletter will cost 25¢, according to the Council’s Vice President 1, who broke the news Sunday. That amount may change, although it is unlikely.

The news comes as the Council attempts to encourage new forms of communication between the school and its students and parents. These attempts include the creation of a website and a Twitter account, and are expected to continue to grow.

DAR prepares for upcoming Awards Assembly

Students and teachers began preparing for the upcoming Annual Awards Assembly this week, with classes practicing performances and assigning Assembly presentations.

Students in Ms. Samia’s Class, for example, began discussing their roles at the Awards Assembly.  Several students studied Surah Luqman intently, preparing for a presentation they will be giving at this year’s event.  Another was planning the introduction to his speech concerning the Dar al-Rahman School Student Council.

With only seven Saturdays left until this year’s Awards Assembly, students will soon begin to discuss it seriously and teachers will begin to plan for it with excitement and energy.  For the latest developments on preparations for the Assembly, make sure to follow our blog and visit our Twitter account regularly.
