New DARSC President accepts responsibilities: “Proud to accept honor”

The new DAR Student Council President today accepted the SC Presidency, saying in an email to her Vice President, “I am proud to accept this honor.”  The news came after the former DARSC President resigned and offered her powers to her then Vice President.

The new President – who completed her first day in office Tuesday – is expected to continue certain projects after her promotion to the top job.  The DARSC Snack Shop is to continue operation, for example, and SC outreach programs are also expected to proceed normally.

Student Council presidential elections are to be held in January of 2013, according to current electoral plans.  Presidential campaigns are expected to begin in October 2012.

DARSC President resigns, transfers power

The former DARSC President submitted her resignation today, transferring power to the DARSC Vice President 2.  The new President has not responded to the news.

The former President submitted her resignation as she prepared to leave the school for another state.  Elected in January after a long, tiring campaign, the new President immediately set out to reform the Council’s fundraising methods.  Her attempts were largely successful.

The Student Council plans to hold its next presidential election in the January of 2013.

DAR makes final arrangements as Awards Assembly nears

DAR today worked out final arrangements as the clock ticked towards tomorrow’s Annual Awards Assembly. Students in all classes practiced their planned presentations as school officials tweaked the projected schedule.

In the DAR Student Council, meanwhile, executives spent their day preparing – and editing – a speech which shall be given by a representative tomorrow. The speech is expected to be a major event in the history of the Council, as this is the first of its kind since the founding of the school in 1997.

The event is to be held at 3345 Motor Ave in Los Angeles. For the latest updates and quick notifications, visit our Twitter account and make sure to enter your email in the box at the right side of your screen.
