On Saturday, February 2, the DAR Student Council welcomed its second president into her second term. A brief inauguration ceremony was performed before the student body prior to the start of the school day.
The president’s first term ended in late January. She handily won reelection to a second term on January 12.
Her reelection brought major changes into the leadership of the Student Council, which has not seen such major changes since the early 2011. A new treasurer entered her office as the president prepared for her second term, and a new vice president assumed his position shortly thereafter. The Council’s membership, meanwhile, has tripled in recent months, leading to a surge in student participation in school activities.
